Lucy Vassar Oral History 1998. The Vassar family were an important part of the sheep industry in Dixon. Their ranch was located on property on North First Street/ Hiway 80 where Walmart is now located. The family first settled in Dixon in 1948 and owned Mountain View Ranch, Vassar Farms and Vassar Ranch.
