Dixon rural mail postal carrier George "Pap" Hulen in front of the railroad depot. For more than 20 years "Pap" delivered mail daily to Maine Prairie and Binghamtom. During the many winter floods he would take a boat from just beyond the cemetery to deliver mail. The larger axle and wheels allowed access through high water. .
