Dixon mail carrier Catherine Smith dressed as "Auntie Sam" for the 1968 Dixon Centennial. She is standing in front of Dixon Lumber Co. on Jackson Street. The Dixon Railroad Station is in the background. The lumber company burned to the ground just after midnight on June 15, 1999 and the city lost a landmark. The lumber company rebuilt as Ace Hardware on North First Street in 2001.

Sacramento Northern's first electric train arriving in Dixon, California in 1913. The garage in the background is that of the Dixon Auto Service Company. The depot signs read: "Sacramento Valley Electric" and " Waiting Room".
