Description |
Dixon Methodist Church on corner of Jefferson and B Street in Dixon, California. The church was was rolled on logs drawn by mules to the site of the new town of Dixon when the village of Silveyville was relocated in 1868. The church is located next to the railroad tracks as it could not be moved over the tracks. Photo was taken before the streets were paved. At that time Jefferson Street was known as Fitch Street.. Wooden structure with white clapboard siding, arched windows and bell steeple. The church is still active today. Two photos - one aged and one in plastic. |
